At this time of year in Cambrian Solvents, we prepare for winterisation. Winterisation is the process of storing raw materials and finished products safely, preventing them from being affected by the cooler temperatures in the winter. Cambrian Solvents take particular care because we have known temperatures as low as -18 degrees.

Cambrian Solvents winterise about 35% of finished goods and 20% of raw materials according to their specific storage requirements.
Mixtures can separate if no care is taken to ensure proper storage conditions. Any undissolved solids will not dissolve in colder climates; consequently, we make a stockpile blend of surfactant liquor during the summer months to avoid this issue.
Cambrian has had to reject raw materials because they were not temperature protected and arrived in multiple layers. However, this has never directly affected our customers or hindered production.
